
About The Instructor:
Carol Velasques- Richardson, Executive Director of the Alachua Children's Theater has been involved in theater for the past 25 years. She began her career at the Acrosstown Repertory Theater in the early 80s as an actress. She later served as its Managing Director from 1990-2003 where she was instrumental in helping it achieve national success. She created the Student Ensemble Theater troupe with members of Eastside High School in the late 90s. She later joined the founding board of directors of the Star Center Children's Theater in 2000 and served as it's Marketing Director. She founded the Douglas Children's Theater in Douglas, Georgia and has served as a drama instructor for the Gainesville Association for the Creative Arts teaching their popular summer program Shakespeare, Summer and Kids! She has produced and directed over 100 numerous children and adult productions in Alachua, Gainesville, The Vinette Carroll Theater, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and South Georgia. She is extremely excited to bring Drama to the Alachua community and Sprout Learning Resources!
